چکیده
People with mid-cervical spinal cord injury (SCI) often have difficulty in performing activities of daily living due to weakness or paralysis the flexor muscles. The inability perform requiring fine motor control, such as eating, brushing, writing, unlocking doors, etc., affects overall quality life negatively. To tasks, appropriate movement hands, specifically at wrist, is essential. For SCI patients, wrist orthotics are considered a viable option which general tasks. Wrist orthotics, used for rehabilitating people SCI, help maintain proper and hand positioning; however, patients must frequently change these orthotic devices per separate activity requirements. This becomes difficult cumbersome patients. In this work, passive 3D-printed upper-extremity dynamic orthosis was developed assist their living. works on principle worm-gear-based mechanism produce pronation/supination motions wrist. test multipurpose customized orthosis, ten cervical were recruited prescribed splint period four weeks. It assessed through QUEST questionnaire task completion assessment its performance. device found provide an range motion, ease took less time complete tasks compared previous works. results indicated satisfactory performance, thereby improving life. successfully assisted subjects activities, thus making them more independent rehabilitative period.
